Job Summary
We are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to deliver pharmaceutical services to day‑case units and wards, working closely with nursing, medical staff and patients. Retail pharmacy experience is welcomed and the department offers extensive education and training.
Main duties
* Dispense prescriptions for in‑patients and out‑patients, including clinical trial medicines.
* Perform final checks in accordance with the Trust’s accreditation scheme.
* Carry out dispenser activities as directed by the team manager or deputy.
* Provide the ‘topping‑up’ service for ward stocks and non‑stock supplies.
* Assist with purchasing as required.
* Counsel patients/carers on medication collection, payment and further supplies.

Salary & Benefits
£27,485 to £30,162 per annum, plus a 15% High‑Cost Area Supplement (£4,552–£5,735 pro‑rate). Bank holidays and late duty are expected.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ3 or BTEC Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
* Registered with the GPhC, or a final‑year trainee awaiting registration.
* Experience in hospital or retail pharmacy.
Desirable
* Experience using a JAC dispensing system.
* Previous oncology pharmacy experience.
Skills & Knowledge
* Initiative and self‑motivation.
* Good oral and written communication.
* Prioritisation, organisational and time‑management skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Basic numeracy (calculation without a calculator).
* Computer and IT literacy; confidentiality.
