New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Speke. This full-time, long-term role offers the opportunity to support children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties in a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role:
• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs, including one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and strategies to promote emotional regulation and positive social interaction.
• Support pupils’ engagement with the curriculum by adapting resources and activities to meet individual needs.
• Help create a calm, structured, and safe learning environment that encourages self-confidence and independence.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Has experience or a strong interest in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
• Is patient, empathetic, and skilled in de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques.
• Can provide a reference covering relevant experience within the last 5 years.
• Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
