£28, - £29, / £14.96 - £15.12 per hour (including Distant Islands allowance)
The Lifestyles Service is located in Kirkwall with bases at the Pickaquoy Centre and St Colm’s, providing person centred day services and opportunities for adults with a variety of learning disabilities.
We are seeking to recruit someone who is highly motivated towards providing high quality services to adults with learning disabilities attending the Lifestyles Service.
The post holder will be required to assist in the provision of a transport service to meet the needs of service users. The individual will work in a team which is responsible for ensuring transport services are flexible, sensitive and responsive to the individual needs of service users whilst promoting individuals’ rights and maintaining their personal dignity. They will also ensure effective and professional communication and relationships with service users, their carers and other service providers.
The individual will assist in transporting service users to and from their homes and various activities within the community, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of service users while on the bus and within the service, following each individual’s support plan and medication protocols.
Whilst in the Lifestyles Service you will assist with activities and individuals’ personal care requirements, working towards individuals’ outcomes.
The individual will have to adhere to the SSSC codes of practice for Social Service Workers and the Health and Social Care Standards.
Applicants must have a good general standard of education, including literacy and numeracy. SVQ2 in Social Services and Health Care is desirable.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
