We would particularly welcome applications from teachers of Computer Science, English, and MFL, although this post is open to applicants of all subject specialisms.
About The Post
We are looking to appoint a Head of Year to lead and inspire excellence throughout TGS, ensuring that students are consistently working hard so they can have great lives. Successful colleagues will be driven by a desire to shape the culture and ethos of the school. As a Head of Year, you will play a pivotal role in leading the personal development, behaviour, and academic progress of students within your year groups. Working closely with tutors, subject staff, SLT, and parents, you will ensure that each student receives the support, challenge, and guidance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide clear and effective leadership of your year groups.
2. Monitor academic progress, attendance, and behaviour, implementing intervention strategies where needed.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive year group culture that reflects the school’s values.
4. Lead assemblies and support whole-school events.
5. Work collaboratively with the safeguarding and pastoral teams.
6. Develop strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to support student success.
