SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) – Permanent Leadership Role Location: Dagenham, East London Start Date: January 2026 (or earlier by negotiation) Salary: Leadership Scale L5–L10 (Outer London) – £56,100 to £63,745 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent A large and inclusive secondary academy in Dagenham is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated SENDCo to lead the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a permanent leadership role offering an exciting opportunity to shape SEND strategy and support across the school community. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice. Oversee EHCPs, interventions, support staff deployment, and progress monitoring for pupils with SEND. Coordinate with external agencies and maintain up-to-date documentation and statutory compliance. Train and support staff to differentiate effectively and understand specific learning needs. Contribute to whole-school improvement planning with a focus on inclusive practice and outcomes for vulnerable learners. The ideal candidate will: Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or be working towards it. Have significant teaching experience and a strong understanding of SEND leadership and strategy. Be confident in using data to track progress and identify areas for intervention. Demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Be passionate about driving high-quality, inclusive education for all learners.
