We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and reliable Asbestos Officer for our well established client in Aberdeen.
Job Role
To ensure the effective management of asbestos across council-owned or managed properties in compliance with Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
The Asbestos Officer will oversee asbestos surveys, risk assessments, removal projects, and maintain the asbestos register to safeguard public health and safety.
Responsibilities
Conduct and manage asbestos surveys (management, refurbishment, and demolition).
Maintain and update the asbestos register and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Liaise with contractors and consultants for asbestos removal and remediation works.
Monitor compliance with asbestos legislation and internal policies.
Provide technical advice and training to staff and stakeholders on asbestos-related matters.
Investigate asbestos incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Prepare reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies (e.g., HSE).

* BOHS Proficiency Module P402
* BOHS S301 Asbestos and Other
