Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with diverse care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re proud of what we do.

We have strong values and are pioneers in delivering innovative social care. Recently, we have received numerous awards at national and regional levels.

We focus on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about supporting others, and in return, we invest in their pay, recognition, wellbeing, and professional development. We provide all necessary training, support, and PPE, and we support career development within our organization.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

We are recruiting a Female Support Worker for a 20-hour role at our service in Thurso.

You will support a lady with Downs Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder, who lives at home with her dad. She loves music, dancing, and singing, and enjoys activities like picnics, day trips, and spending time with her family.

The lady has a fear of dogs, requiring patience, compassion, and reassurance. She prefers community outings by car due to her unease with dogs, so a UK driving license is essential.

Shifts are from Monday to Thursday: 9am - 9pm, 9am - 4pm, or 4pm - 9pm. On weekends, support is provided from 9am - 9pm, with sleepovers on Friday and Saturday nights. Staff work various shifts, including some sleepovers, to ensure fairness.

This role requires a female support worker, which is a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act.

Our values:

The people we support appreciate being supported by respectful, encouraging, and fun-loving staff. They value reliability and honesty to build trust and ensure their best interests are served.
