Hours: 37 Hours
Location(s): Team is based at Parkhouse Building, Carlisle, but currently adopt a mix of home and office working. Permanent homeworking or working flexibly from another Cumberland building would also be considered. We have Offices in Workington and Whitehaven too.

Are you ready for an exciting opportunity as a Pay & Reward Advisor at Cumberland Council? If so, we invite you to join us in contributing to our corporate approach to compensation, benefits, and pensions. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting strategic initiatives that align with our corporate objectives and Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD) Plan.
Your responsibilities will also include supporting the evolution of pay and grading structures to drive, develop, and implement reforms, as well as assisting with the quality assurance and benchmarking process ensuring it remain future proofed and supporting with pensions projects and initiatives.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a background in HR and compensation, possessing qualifications such as NVQ Level 4 or equivalent demonstrable experience, along with CIPD membership or equivalent experience. They should also bring expertise in people management. Experience in navigating a unionised environment is essential, and they should demonstrate a understanding of pay and reward systems, models, and frameworks, as well as familiarity with the critical challenges that local governments face.
