Compliance Liaison Officer Location: Manchester Job Type: Full-time Hourly rate: £16.89 PAYE Length of role: Initial 6 months We are seeking a Resident Engagement Officer to join our Housing Services team within the Neighbourhoods Directorate. This role is crucial for carrying out enforcement visits for Gas and Electrical Safety checks, acting as a Council representative to ensure access is granted and properties are made safe. The successful candidate will have strong people and communication skills, a driving license, and access to a car. Day-to-day of the role: Attend properties alongside an Engineer and Locksmith to conduct enforcement visits for safety checks. Act as a Council representative to ensure access is granted and enter properties following a lock change where necessary. Cold call and arrange enforcement visits with contractors, and hand deliver enforcement letters. Assist the ME team in achieving compliance for overdue gas and electrical safety checks. Coordinate and implement community events and initiatives. Work closely with external stakeholders to enhance social value engagement offers. Provide support and assistance to residents involved with Manchester City Council and their communities. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage with stakeholders and manage multiple tasks effectively. Problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities. Administrative skills with the ability to maintain effective systems. Must be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car. Basic understanding of Excel and ability to manage a shared spreadsheet.
