Wythenshawe, South Manchester Position: KS1 Teacher Location: Wythenshawe, South Manchester Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Salary: MPS / UPS dependent on experience Start Date: Immediate About the School This inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join its dedicated team. The Role As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum. You will foster a stimulating, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence. You will also play a key role in supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them build resilience, confidence, and positive learning habits. Collaboration with teaching assistants, SENCO, and senior leadership will be essential to provide targeted support for pupils, including those with additional needs. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Planning and delivering differentiated lessons in line with curriculum objectives Monitoring, assessing, and tracking pupil progress Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Using a range of teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs, including SEN and EAL pupils Collaborating with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and SENCO Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school improvement initiatives Contributing to extracurricular activities, school events, and trips Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards The Ideal Candidate The school seeks a KS1 Teacher who: Is fully qualified (QTS) and experienced in Key Stage 1 Is passionate about early years education and child development Can deliver engaging, differentiated lessons Has strong classroom management and organisational skills Understands SEN, EAL, and pastoral support needs Demonstrates a reflective and proactive approach to teaching Builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and resilience in all pupils Professional Development The school offers: Mentoring and support from experienced staff and leaders CPD opportunities in pedagogy, curriculum development, and SEN Opportunities to lead initiatives and projects Guidance for assessment preparation and interventions Collaborative teaching and learning projects across year groups What the School Offers A welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative school culture Experienced and supportive leadership Well-resourced classrooms and learning environments Focus on staff wellbeing and development Long-term career progression opportunities The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives Safeguarding Statement The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
