The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy to join the Hounslow Psychotherapy service on a less than full time basis. Whilst the current service is small, there is a desire to enhance the psychotherapy provision in Hounslow in line with the other boroughs. The current team consists of:
>0.6 WTE Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy
>2 X 0.5WTE ST4-6 Trainees (the ST’s are part of the Higher training in the Joint Psychotherapy and General Adult Psychiatry training)
>1 X 0.5WTE CT Trainee (In a post split between the Cassell Hospital and Hounslow Psychotherapy department).
>Admin support
>Honorary Psychotherapy Trainees
Main duties of the job
The majority of the work is community based. The post holder is the clinical lead for the service. S/he will provide direct clinical care with the assessment and treatment of people with complex mental health needs. The post holder will carry a case load and will provide supervision for team members, honorary staff and medical trainees attached to the department. The post holder will provide consultations as requested to the wider service within local services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
2. MRCPsych or equivalent
3. Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
4. Eligible for approval as an approved Clinician
5. MHA 1983 Section 12 Approval
Desirable criteria
6. MSc or other higher degree
7. External training in psychoanalytical psychotherapy and registered with the BPC
Eligibility
Essential criteria
8. On the GMC Specialist Register with accreditation in psychotherapy or within six months of CCT
9. Excellent clinical skills in psychotherapy
Desirable criteria
10. Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

12. Able to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
