Job Title: Automation Service Engineer
Location: Cheltenham/Tewkesbury (with ~70% travel UK, Ireland, North America)
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + benefits
Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–14:00 (flexible during travel or site work)

The Role:
As a senior Automation Service Engineer, you will split your time between in-house pre-installation work and on-site project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
* Electrical installation, machinery commissioning, and post-purchase servicing.
* Installation of control panels and leading the build of bespoke machines and automation systems.
* Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges quickly and effectively.
* Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards, on time, every time.
* Mentoring junior team members and collaborating with a dedicated, hardworking team.
Candidate Requirements:
* Apprentice-trained or qualified industrial electrical fitter (preferred).
* Experience interpreting electrical (essential) and mechanical (advantageous) engineering drawings.
* Strong automation machinery experience, including industrial control systems/PLC programming.
* Knowledge of pneumatic systems, industrial networks, and medium-sized assemblies.
* Experience working in hygienic environments with strong health & safety awareness.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
* Self-motivated, punctual, and able to manage time and teams effectively.
* Flexible with travel (~70%, including UK and North America).
* Full UK driving licence (≤3 penalty points) and UK/EU passport.
