Description:
Berry Recruitment are looking for a HGV Class 2 driver to work as part of their Streetcare team based in Peterborough.
The successful candidate will be required to operate a truck mounted road sweeper throughout the streets of Peterborough.
Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 6.30am – 2.30pm and Friday 6.30am – 2pm
What does this role involve?
1. Safely operating a truck mounted, left hand drive HGV road sweeper
2. Working alone to set routes and rounds, sweeping the streets and curblines across Peterborough, inc high speed road under TM as required.
3. Ensuring daily work schedules are followed, and to a consistent high standard
4. Completing appropriate safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, and reporting defects as required.
5. Tipping arisings at our waste transfer station in Fengate
6. Cleaning and washing down sweeper at the end of each shift
7. Liaising with members of the public, other team members, managers and clients in a professional and courteous manner
8. Assisting with other areas of the Streetcare service as required.
What are we looking for?
9. HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C) with Full CPC and experience of safely operating similar sized vehicles in busy urban environments
10. Ability, desire and motivation to work alone and unsupervised
11. Ability to follow work instructions, both written and oral, to a high standard
12. Desire and ability to consistently work to a high standard with a flexible approach to work.
13. Health and Safety awareness and the ability to follow safe working practices at all times
14. Ability to understand and complete documents/forms relating to the service
15. Local knowledge of the Peterborough area
Experience and Qualifications
16. HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C) with Full CPC / Tacho
17. Min 1 year experience of operating similar sized vehicles in urban environments
18. Experience of operating truck mounted left hand drive sweepers preferable
