Overview
The Faculty of Law is appointing a Departmental Lecturer in Constitutional Law and Administrative Law to cover Professor Nicholas Barber during his research leave. The postholder will teach for the Faculty and Trinity College, engage with admissions, organise teaching, and conduct original independent research suitable for publication. Membership of the Senior Common Room is included.
Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Constitutional Theory for the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) and the Magister Juris (MJur) programmes.
* Deliver lectures, seminars and tutorials, and organise teaching for specific areas of the syllabus.
* Act as a college advisor and contribute to the intellectual life of the Faculty and Trinity College during term-time and vacations.
* Plan and manage teaching load, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree and a doctorate (PhD/DPhil) in Law.
* Evidence of ability to teach undergraduate and graduate students across a range of Law topics through lectures, seminars or tutorials.
* Track record of high-quality research in Law, including peer-reviewed publications.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, able to meet tight deadlines.
Terms of Employment
* Full time, fixed-term contract for three years.
* Based at the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building.
* Salary: £39,424 to £47,779 per annum (STANDARD GRADE 7).
