Role Overview:
The Electronics Engineering Manager will provide expertise in analogue, digital (FPGA), and computer-based safety systems. The role involves leading, managing, and mentoring a team of electronics engineers through requirements gathering, design, maintenance, and system installation.
Responsibilities:
* Analyze existing equipment to determine requirements for replacement or refurbishment.
* Establish and discuss customer solutions to agree on optimal outcomes considering cost, timeline, and implementation ease.
* Coordinate with suppliers regarding third-party equipment supply and support.
* Design, develop, and repair systems within your expertise.
* Support installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed.
* Develop personal engineering capabilities in safety systems and instrumentation.
* Produce technical reports, requirements specifications, and drawings.
* Conduct peer reviews for safety, functionality, and standards compliance.
* Provide technical support to project managers and lead technical areas within the team.
* Ensure all work adheres to safety, ethical, and industry standards.
* Manage team performance, discipline, morale, and welfare.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent industry experience in electronics design, schematic design, and PCB layout.
* Experience in electrical subsystem design, prototyping, and commissioning.
* Proficiency in analogue and digital electronics, including EMC design considerations.
* Technical qualifications in electrical or electronic design or instrumentation and control.
* Experience managing team workloads, mentoring, and leadership.
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
* Experience with electronic equipment design or maintenance in regulated industries.
* Experience in Defence, Aerospace, or safety-regulated environments is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Altium Designer is a plus.
