Contract Cyber Security Project Manager (Detection Engineering Delivery) Our client is seeking a contract Cyber Security Project Manager to oversee the delivery of detection engineering initiatives within a SOC environment. This role is focused on coordinating projects, managing sprint-based delivery, and ensuring detection, automation, and integration workstreams are delivered on time and to a high standard. You will act as the central point of coordination between detection engineers, threat hunting teams, and SOC stakeholders, ensuring priorities are translated into clear plans and successfully executed. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end delivery of detection engineering and SOC development projects Plan, coordinate, and track sprint-based workstreams, ensuring milestones and commitments are met Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives Monitor progress across multiple initiatives, identifying risks, dependencies, and blockers Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver SIEM, SOAR, and automation-related enhancements Ensure effective prioritisation of detection use cases, integrations, and automation initiatives Track ad-hoc tasks and continuous improvement activities to enhance SOC service delivery Work closely with technical teams to translate requirements into structured project plans and timelines Support post-incident improvement initiatives by coordinating the delivery of new detections and response automations Maintain clear documentation of plans, workflows, and delivery processes to support stakeholder visibility and governance Produce regular status updates, dashboards, and reports for internal stakeholders and clients About You Proven experience managing cyber security or SOC-related projects Strong background in agile delivery and sprint-based project environments Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills Ability to coordinate technical teams delivering SIEM, SOAR, and security engineering outcomes Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment Strong risk, dependency, and issue management capability Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical work into clear delivery plans Familiarity with security operations, detection engineering, or threat monitoring environments is highly desirable Experience working with MSSP or SOC teams is advantageous This contract role is well suited to a delivery-oriented project manager who can drive structured execution across detection engineering initiatives, ensuring security capabilities are delivered efficiently and aligned to operational priorities.
