Role Overview
At Accenture we design new services that make a lasting impact by improving users’ lives, making our country safer and enabling businesses to evolve. We are expanding the Experience Design team to deliver new digital products and experiences for public and private sector clients. The Experience Design practice comprises five design disciplines: User Research, Service Design, Interaction Design, Design Systems and Design Thinking.
This newly created multidisciplinary role seeks a Senior Experience Designer to support existing and new client engagements. The designer will perform user research, transform business processes into user journeys through service design, and design interaction solutions that demonstrate how user needs and business requirements are met.
Responsibilities
* Strong in Service and Interaction design with experience in conducting User Research; deliver service blueprints, user journeys, flows, lo‑fi & hi‑fi prototypes, interface design, component designs, design specifications, presentations and design pitches.
* Intellectually curious, creative problem solver focused on design methodology, passionate about inclusive and accessible services for a diverse user population.
* Develop a deep understanding of user needs and champion inclusive design and accessibility.
* Perform discoveries and plan, scope, conduct, analyse and communicate findings that ground design decisions against user needs.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, guiding software engineers as they build designs.
* Co‑create with users, lead workshops and inclusive design initiatives.
* Engage stakeholders, communicate fluently with business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders.
* Work across all fidelities of design, from initial concepts to final design specifications, through to working with developers to produce the final solution.
* Translate user needs into journeys, demonstrate how solutions meet required needs with measurable value, and reshape user stories with acceptance criteria.
* Take a holistic approach, identifying patterns and workflows by considering the larger system.
* Apply graphic design principles, typography, colour theory, branding consistency and information hierarchy.
* Understand digital service design, development and operation, including how to meet accessibility standards.
* Apply agile and lean practices, analyse and synthesize to increase consensus and challenge assumptions.
* Collaborate with UX researchers while also conducting your own research and evaluations to test and improve designs.
Qualifications
* Experience with the design and development lifecycle from initial discovery to working with developers to produce the final solution.
* Service Design/UX experience including user journeys, flows, lo‑fi & hi‑fi designs and prototype experiences for user testing.
* Experience producing component‑based UI or contributing to a design system; able to talk to brand values and serve the needs for mobile, tablet and desktop UI, with experience designing products that meet accessibility standards.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a design role at a consumer‑focused company, or a government body, and a degree in Design, Psychology, Human‑Computer Interaction or a related field.
* Portfolio showcasing design process and thinking.
* Experience working within the GDS framework and service standards is a benefit.
