Exciting opportunity to join the well-established reporting radiographers team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The candidate must have postgraduate qualifications in a specialist area of practice—skeletal image interpretation, including chest. This requires at least a postgraduate Certificate level with significant practical experience in the specialty. A master's level diploma or degree is desirable.

We are seeking an experienced reporter for both musculoskeletal and chest examinations to enhance our current team and improve the service. Our department encourages innovative working methods that promote patient safety and efficient pathways.

The post will be based at North Tyneside General Hospital, with some rotation between trust sites, including participation in the weekend rota at our Cramlington site. On-call service participation is also expected.

The role involves reporting and clinical duties.

The successful candidate will participate in supervising trainee reporters and junior radiology staff, as well as providing teaching on image interpretation for staff from other departments, such as nurses in urgent care.

Main duties of the job

Provide a highly specialist, independent reporting service (including 'Hot Reporting') for trauma and skeletal radiographs, offering diagnoses and guiding treatment and care.

Key professional relationships include: consultant radiologists, specialist registrars, radiographers, and medical and nursing staff within Accident and Emergency services. Effective communication across all organizational levels, including complex/highly complex radiological findings discussions, is essential.

Maintain professional standards through evidence-based practice and ensure high-quality patient care.

Participate in audits and trust REALM meetings.

Work clinically within radiology, depending on skill set.

Ensure compliance with legislation such as IR(ME)R and IRR17, along with other trust policies.
