Purpose of the Position:
To lead the region with a strategic plan aligned with the company's growth ambitions and oversee the Profit & Loss responsibilities for the region. The role focuses on sales revenue, volume, profit targets, and people development. The goal is to drive the business to be the No.1 solution provider, fostering sustainable growth and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
Role Responsibilities:
* Set regional budgets and manage accounts in collaboration with the FD and finance team.
* Chair regional sales meetings.
* Develop and implement strategies for suppliers, hauliers, and customers.
* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through visits and engagement.
* Lead and develop the sales team to meet and exceed targets, utilizing KPIs for performance management.
* Identify new regional opportunities and collaborate with the National Commercial Director.
* Manage and train the regional sales techniques, systems, and processes.
* Oversee regional transport operations, analyzing risks and opportunities.
* Manage credit limits and approve credit notes in coordination with credit control and risk management.
* Set KPIs and oversee sales administration in partnership with relevant teams.
* Plan and execute training and development for the regional team, including recruitment.
* Contribute to business process improvements and best practices.
* Collaborate with major projects and commercial teams to maximize opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with HR and Health & Safety regulations to maintain a safe and legal workplace.
Knowledge, Training, and Qualifications:
* Full UK Driving License (Essential).
* Willingness to work from various offices in the North, including Whitwood and Knutsford.
* At least 3 years in a management role with P&L responsibility preferred; attitude and leadership potential are highly valued.
* Proven success in driving business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
* Strong leadership, negotiation skills, and financial acumen.
* Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail.
* Understanding of industry trends and ability to adapt under pressure.
