Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to gain both clinical and operational leadership experience across our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services via a three‑year secondment.
We are proud to be the top performing trust in the 2022/23 National EIP audit, with all five early intervention teams achieving Level 4 ‘top performing’. We provide timely access for those experiencing first episode psychosis and ensure the provision of high‑quality care for service‑users and their families/carers.
Main duties of the job
As a senior highly specialist clinical lead, the post‑holder will provide a high level of specialist expertise with complex and challenging cases within the EIP Service and across the Pennine Care footprint.
Clinical leadership will be exercised in partnership with managerial and clinical colleagues in the Pennine Care Trust (PCT) and the Service will be represented nationally as required. The post‑holder will present recommendations to Community Service Managers, Associate Directors and the tier 2 triumvirate on the development of service priorities.

Person specification – Education / Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., RMN, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapy or Social Work) with a master’s in a relevant subject or equivalent.
* Post‑graduate qualification in a relevant clinical area.
* Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
Person specification – Knowledge
* In‑depth knowledge of national policy and best practice in Early Intervention in Psychosis and NICE guidelines for schizophrenia.
* Understanding of the broader NHS reform framework and current policies in health and social care.
* Experience of communicating effectively and sensitively, both orally and in writing, with clients, families/carers and other professional colleagues.
Person specification – Experience
* Significant post‑qualification experience working clinically in mental health, assessing, containing and managing complex cases in a multidisciplinary setting (ideally Early Intervention Services).
* Managing, training and mentoring staff.
* Practical experience in facilitating change and leading service improvement.
* Experience of active involvement in local and regional groups, undertaking clinical audit and working with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience of safeguarding incidents, serious untoward incidents, complaints and quality improvement projects.
