Position Summary Conestoga is a leader in polytechnic education, and fosters career-focused education, training, and applied research programs to prepare students for success, support industry and workforce needs, and promote economic prosperity throughout our region and across Ontario. The School of Engineering & Technology is seeking a Part-Time Curriculum Developer to join the Commercial Flight Operations program team. The successful candidate will be designing the Flight Dispatch course. The successful candidate will create course content for a 42-hour-long course to be delivered in person. The course consists of up to 14 modules and must be developed for a 15-week delivery. The primary tasks for course module creation are researching, writing, creating, and curating content to ensure an equivalent of three hours of teaching (lecture and activities) per week. Assessments will also need to be created based on module content. The Part-Time Curriculum Developer will follow the guidelines and processes of Conestoga’s School of Engineering and Technology and receive course development and technical support throughout their work. Responsibilities Design new course material or conduct major course revisions Develop course outcomes, content topics, unit outcomes, resources, instructional plan, evaluation matrix and evaluation description statement, and eConestoga course shell Create course content, developing and adding detailed assessments, rubrics, exams, teaching materials, PowerPoint slides, teaching activities and weekly lesson structures Attend preliminary and regular check-in meetings with a Program and Course Development Consultant Collaborate with appropriate internal departments (e.g. Curriculum Operations) Effectively manage a series of folders and document versions Produce and submit content and activities weekly Engage in the final review and sign-off of each course module Revise course outlines, evaluations, resources and content Qualifications Current or previous Transport Canada Flight Dispatch licence Minimum three years of experience as a flight dispatcher Experience with curriculum development in adult education and post-secondary contexts is an asset Demonstrated capability to write and create text-based and multi-media learning materials Strong leadership skills and commitment to academic excellence, superior time and project management skills to meet required deadlines Proficient in computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) Knowledge and experience using learning management systems (e.g., D2L) is an asset Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills Able to work independently with little direct supervision Strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and ability to support Conestoga’s continuous quality improvement initiatives Apply Now Apply to this requisition Print this requisition
