We have an exciting opportunity to join a new mental health community rehabilitation service for people living in North Lincolnshire. We are seeking enthusiastic and innovative professionals to help us embed this new 7-day service. The service will enable individuals to receive intensive community rehabilitation closer to home, aligning with the NHS Long Term Plan (2019) for Mental Health.
The community rehabilitation service will comprise a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency workforce, working collaboratively between Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) and North Lincolnshire Council. This partnership aims to share skills and specialisms to support individuals and improve their quality of life.
The team will be led by a team manager and supported by dedicated administrative staff.
RDaSH is committed to the ongoing development of our colleagues, offering half a day each month of CPD through our 'half day learning' scheme. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver some of these learning sessions to support colleagues' understanding of this specialism.
Role
This position is for a Consultant Occupational Therapist within the North Lincolnshire Mental Health Rehabilitation Team. The role will be primarily clinical, managing a caseload of complex individuals and supervising other staff members. The main responsibilities include:
* Improving the lives of people with mental health needs in North Lincolnshire through assessments and interventions aligned with multi-professional consultant-level practice capability and impact framework.
* Focusing predominantly on clinical work, as per the expert practice pillar of the framework.
* Working as part of a 7-day service, which requires working some weekend days on a pre-agreed rota.
Expert Practice
* A significant proportion of time will be dedicated to clinical work.
* Clinically leading the Mental Health Rehabilitation service and being responsible for clinical governance as appropriate.
* Maintaining a defined, complex patient-focused caseload, with areas of interest relevant to service needs.
* Leading partnership working with agencies such as Social Services, user/carer groups, and voluntary organizations at various levels.
