Senior Project Manager – London, UK
Overview
Lead the delivery of high‑voltage (HV) substation projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring technical, contractual and safety compliance.
What You Will Do
* Project leadership: manage programme, milestones, interfaces and deliverables to meet customer and business objectives.
* Contract & commercial management under NEC4: early warnings, compensation events, change control and communications; forecast, track and report costs.
* Technical & construction management: oversee construction, maintain safety standards, manage subcontractors, coordinate with engineering, commissioning and operations.
* Risk & opportunity management: identify, assess, mitigate risks, report on risk registers, and realise improvement opportunities.
* Stakeholder & interface management: act as primary contact for clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams; prepare and present progress reports and dashboards.
* Health, safety & environment: promote safety culture, enforce HV safety rules, CDM regulations and HSE policies; support environmental compliance and sustainability.
About You
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
* Proven experience managing HV substation or transmission/distribution projects.
* Strong understanding of NEC4 contract mechanisms and commercial governance.
* Experience managing multiple subcontractors and designers and interfaces.
* Programme and cost management skills, including forecasting and financial reporting.
* Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity realisation.
* Strong communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
Desirable: Project management qualifications (APM, PRINCE2, PMP).
