Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Security Team based at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish. The team\'s main purpose is to keep patients, staff and the environment safe.
Responsibilities
* Carry out security tasks across the site to ensure a safe environment for people, property and information.
* Support nursing teams in delivering patient-centred care and ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients.
* Conduct perimeter checks across the site and wards; report security concerns or damage.
* Assist ward nursing and multi-disciplinary teams with new patient ward admissions; act as escort/driver for hospital or court visits.
* Be part of the restraint team and respond to emergencies on the wards; provide training to staff on handcuff/soft cuff, security awareness and search training (with the Security Manager).
* Carry out nursing assistant duties as required, such as patient observations and urine drug screens (UDS).
Requirements and characteristics
* Flexible shift pattern over a 7 day period, including occasional evenings and nights as needed.
* Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work in a team and handle sensitive information with data security awareness.
* Ability to work under pressure without direct supervision; prioritise tasks and support colleagues.
* Contribute to high quality care and patient experience; assist with induction of new staff as required.
* All staff to attend and pass a physical restraint assessment.
