Lead Mobile Engineer role at ScottishPower.

Location: Glasgow, G2 5AD / Hybrid

Salary: £69,200 + up to 20% bonus, car allowance and family healthcare.

About the Role

ScottishPower is seeking a talented and driven Lead Mobile Engineer to join our Digital team and lead the development of our flagship mobile applications – the "YourEnergy" app for iOS and Android. This is a technical leadership role focused on delivering high-quality mobile experiences that support our business goals and enhance customer engagement.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Lead the development and evolution of ScottishPower’s mobile applications, ensuring alignment with business strategy and customer needs.
* Own the delivery of strategic mobile projects, defining the technical vision and roadmap.
* Review and approve technical designs, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability.
* Champion engineering best practices, including secure coding, observability, and accessibility.
* Ensure high standards of documentation and knowledge sharing across the team.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Product, Design, Security, and QA.
* Manage and mentor mobile engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


What You’ll Bring

* Proven experience leading technical delivery of mobile applications at scale.
* Strong background in native mobile development (iOS and Android).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
* Proficiency with source control tools (e.g., Git).
* Familiarity with observability and analytics tools for mobile platforms.
* Experience implementing accessibility standards and inclusive design.
* Knowledge of mobile security testing tools and vulnerability remediation.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to lead and inspire engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment.
