The Service

The National Fostering Group's first Residential Family Assessment Centre is located in Littlehampton, West Sussex. It is a 6-bed residential facility providing expert parenting capacity assessments for parents, babies, and children. Our primary goal is to offer expert assessments while providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment that builds confidence and equips parents with essential parenting skills. Families benefit from 1-to-1 support from designated key workers, shared advice, group learning, social activities, and practical support. The service is therapeutically led, offering a wide range of courses delivered by a multidisciplinary team. The accommodation includes ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen, communal and therapeutic spaces, and areas for meetings or family visits. The location near parks, the beach, and the town provides natural opportunities for skill development and community engagement.

The Role

You will provide direct support to families, offering advice and guidance on areas such as personal care of a baby and the importance of structure and routine. Under guidance, you will practice systemic thinking and goal-based planning to facilitate positive experiences for children and their parents, working effectively with relatives, advocates, and others involved. You will ensure health and safety standards are maintained, report hazards, and participate in team meetings, supervisions, and reviews. Maintaining a caring, confidential, and culturally sensitive service is essential.
