About this Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, and in very close proximity to the centre of Birmingham. We are a slightly larger than average, 11–16 co-educational academy with approximately 1,200 students. We have grown over the last few years and are now full and oversubscribed in every year group for the seventh consecutive year. The academy’s reputation locally is excellent. OSCA was graded as a good academy for the third time in 2023.

The academy has been recognised with a myriad of awards over recent years. These include the Investors In People Gold Award, The Quality In Careers Standard Gold Award, The Basic Skills Quality Mark, and the Artsmark Gold Award. This is a fantastic time to join the vibrant and caring learning community at OSCA. Our strong code of values guides our work and creates a secure and safe environment where all students can thrive and succeed. Staff are committed to ensuring every student reaches their full potential by having the highest aspirations and a commitment to both academic and personal excellence. Students speak positively about the “strong sense of community” at the academy and “the support they receive from the teachers”, with a Year 8 student describing life at OSCA as being part of “one big family.”

Are you the inspirational and creative leader we are looking for?

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to join the Senior Leadership Team as Vice Principal to be responsible for driving Behaviour and Culture. The successful candidate will:

* Have experience in leading on the key aspects of the role, as stated in the job description
* Ensure that the federation of Ormiston Academies is always presented positively within and beyond the Academy.
* Work alongside the Head of School to ensure the aims and objectives of the academy are achieved.
* Promote a strong learning culture in the Academy which translates to positive academic outcomes for all students.
* Have the ability to work with staff and students on providing the best possible learning opportunities and support, ensuring clear outcomes and impacts.
* Play a key role in the overall leadership and management of the Academy, with a belief in our core values of opportunity, scholarship, compassion and aspiration - ensuring that all staff work to support and promote these key values
