We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Team Leader for day shift to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Reporting to: Nurse/Deputy Manager/Home Manager
Job Overview:
* To provide leadership to the care staff within the home.
* To provide care in accordance with current best practice, to the organisation's policy, procedures and agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations, under the direction of the Nurse, Deputy Manager and Home Manager
* To supervise care delivery in accordance with agreed standards.
* To maintain appropriate care skills, including undertaking training and development which may, from time-to-time, be required.
Responsibilities:
The Team Leader's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Ensuring residents are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are met to enhance their wellbeing
* Supervising the care team to ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service
* Promoting and protecting the welfare of residents at all times
* Providing a high standard of care to residents by promoting independence and choice
* Administering prescribed medication in line with competency and training
* Maintaining accurate, timely and up-to-date records for all residents
* Developing effective working relationships with other colleagues at the home
* Providing leadership to the care team, including regular supervision for identified team members
* Working in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents
* If desired by the resident, support them to maintain and develop relationships with family, friends and other important people in their lives.
Personal and Professional Development:
* Working within the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Code of Professional Conduct
* Having knowledge of, and adhering to, the established guidelines and regulations that define the quality of care delivery in the social care sector.
* Holding or obtaining a relevant qualification, as required for the role.
* Completing mandatory training and any other training, as directed by the Home Manager
