Make a Difference in Your Community Our retail volunteers play a vital role in raising funds to support patient care and families across North Derbyshire. By volunteering in our Matlock shops, you’ll be directly helping to fund the compassionate care provided by Ashgate Hospice. We’re looking for friendly, reliable individuals to join our welcoming team and help create a positive shopping experience for our customers. Location: 22 &24 Firs Parade, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 3ASTime Commitment: Ideally one morning or afternoon per week (a few hours still make a big difference!)Age Requirement: 16 What You’ll Be Doing As a Shop Volunteer, you’ll: Meet and welcome customers with a smile Assist customers with purchases Operate the till and handle Gift Aid donations Price and replenish stock Sort donated items Help maintain an attractive, tidy shop environment Carry out general housekeeping duties You’ll be part of a supportive team of staff and volunteers, working together to keep the shop running smoothly. Who We’re Looking For We’d love to hear from you if you: Enjoy providing great customer service Are comfortable working independently and as part of a team Understand the importance of representing the hospice in the community Can offer a regular commitment Are willing to complete statutory training within your first two months Share and uphold the values and policies of Ashgate Hospice What You Can Expect From Us When you volunteer with us, you can expect: A warm, inclusive, and supportive environment Clear guidance about your role and responsibilities Full training and induction (including statutory training) Ongoing support from the shop team A safe environment that prioritises health and wellbeing The satisfaction of knowing you’re helping to fund vital hospice care Important Information Volunteers must be aged 16 or over All volunteers are required to attend:Voluntary Statutory Training (3 hours) Ashgate Hospice Induction (3 hours) Local role-specific training will be provided Confidentiality around patient and hospice information is essential Interested?
