Smart Manufacturing Solutions are recruiting experienced Welders to join our client's precision fabrication team based in Stockton-on-Tees.
You'll be part of a highly skilled and dynamic workforce within the multi-plate processing and heavy fabrication sector, producing high-quality, heavy-duty components for a wide range of industrial applications.
We're looking for dependable, skilled professionals who take pride in the quality and accuracy of their work, with solid experience in heavy welding operations and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform high‑quality MIG welding on heavy steel components
* Use jigs, fixtures, and templates to ensure precision and repeatability
* Carry out basic fabrication, plating, and assembly tacking tasks
* Interpret engineering drawings and weld specifications accurately
* Conduct light and heavy‑duty grinding to prepare and finish welds
* Complete daily PPM (machine check sheets) and contribute to 5S / housekeeping standards
* Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with engineering requirements
* Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maintain workflow efficiency
Person Specification
* Proven experience in welding or fabrication is essential
* Strong background in heavy welding and fabrication environments
* Previous experience in manufacturing is desirable but not essential
* Confident using handheld tools and workshop equipment
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Working Hours
* Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-2:15pm, Friday 6:00am-12:45pm
* Back Shift (if required): Monday-Thursday 2:15pm-10:30pm, Friday 12:45pm-7:30pm
* Night Shift (if required): Sunday 9:30pm-6:00am, Monday-Thursday 10:30pm-6:20am
