About the Position

The Associate Director supports the mission of Milken Institute Health by executing projects that seek to address barriers and develop solutions to improve healthcare ecosystems around the world. The Associate Director will primarily be responsible for supporting the Institute's Women's Health Network activities in Europe and the Middle East and supporting the Institute's Project Prevent initiative in the UK, among other responsibilities. This position requires excellent skills in project management, research and writing, and stakeholder engagement. The Associate Director must have the ability to develop a project plan and execute against it in a high-quality manner. This role requires proactivity, resourcefulness, and flexibility.

The Milken Institute Women's Health Network seeks to address the decades of underfunding in research & development and innovations and transform the state of women's health and wellbeing. Chaired by former United States First Lady Jill Biden, the Network serves as a global collaborative, elevating and advancing existing and new efforts across the women's health ecosystem. The Network is working to (1) establish a digital platform to foster and accelerate data-sharing, resource collection, financial counseling, and institutional knowledge exchange, (2) design the infrastructure for a pooled Investment Fund to support researchers, community organizations, industry partners, and innovators, and (3) develop proof-of-concept activities and projects with deliverables that support the women's health innovation ecosystem.

Project Prevent is an initiative of Milken Institute Health that seeks to bring together leaders and experts across sectors to create a blueprint for shifting to health prevention at scale. Preventable illnesses remain a leading cause of death worldwide. Noncommunicable diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity, now account for most premature deaths, driven by lack of access to healthy foods, inactivity, and inadequate screening. To guide this initiative in the UK, the Institute convenes an Advisory Council on Preventative Health, bringing together leaders from health, policy, and finance to explore scalable and sustainable solutions for preventative care in the UK.
