Responsibilities
* Provide effective advice and expertise within the Flood Risk Management team to contribute to the regeneration and sustainability of Calderdale.
* Lead the delivery of the Calderdale Flood Recovery & Resilience Investment Programme and other key climate resilience initiatives.
* Manage the capital programme team, ensuring strategic direction, legal compliance and alignment with Council objectives.
* Represent Calderdale Council at regional meetings, securing funding and engaging stakeholders.
* Develop policies, action plans and programme monitoring to meet flood‑risk reduction, biodiversity and resilience goals.
* Facilitate stakeholder partnership, navigate differing perspectives and support successful programme delivery.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in Flood Risk Management.
* Strong organisational and budget‑monitoring skills.
* Excellent management, communication and negotiation skills.
* Experience public speaking in challenging environments and working with elected members.
