Your new role As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day running of the finance function, reporting directly to the Managing Director. This is a hands‑on role where you will manage the full accounting cycle and provide valuable financial insight to support future planning.Your responsibilities will include: Managing, supporting and developing a finance assistant Overseeing purchase and sales ledger activity Bank reconciliations and cashflow oversight Preparing quarterly management accounts and reporting packs Budgeting and forecasting VAT returns and statutory submissions Payroll processing and administration Maintaining HR‑related personnel records and producing contracts Supporting wider office operations typical of a small business leadership team What you'll need to succeed To excel in this position, you will need: Experience working across all areas of accounts and payroll Strong working knowledge of Excel and cloud‑based accounting software (Xero or similar) Proven month‑end experience, including management accounts and reporting Good understanding of VAT, PAYE, NIC, pensions, and P11Ds The confidence to work autonomously, make decisions and support non‑finance colleagues Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate within a small, collaborative management team XERO Experience This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, ownership and being close to the operational day‑to‑day of the business.
