As a result of the expansion of our team of pharmacists and the reconfiguration of the service, an opportunity exists to join a pro‑active, well respected and forward‑thinking Pharmacy Oncology Team as a specialist Oncology Paediatric Pharmacist delivering high quality patient care and service to our patients.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist who is interested in consolidating their clinical and managerial expertise in the areas of Paediatric Oncology. The team already provides and has a well‑established service for haematology and oncology.
You will have experience in oncology, haemato‑oncology and /or paediatric. Preferably you will have some previous management experience, including service improvement/development. You will be able to work independently, manage your own workload and have experience in managing/supporting staff.
The post is based at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital where the paediatric service is sited.
Main duties
* Using your specialist knowledge to provide support for the Paediatric Oncology Service
* Working as part of the multi‑disciplinary team to implement changes and develop new procedures and services.
* Pre‑assessing patients, reviewing test results and assessing their safety to proceed to treatment.
* Training and mentoring pharmacists and other health professionals.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Post‑graduate diploma or MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
* 1 year of Pre‑Registration training
Desirable
* Attendance at relevant study days/courses in Oncology / Haematology
* Membership of Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group
* Carry BOPA SACT passport
* Completed NMP course
* Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in Clinical Trials
Experience / Knowledge
Essential
* At least 3 years post registration experience in hospital pharmacy
* Experience of delivering a high quality clinical pharmacy service in Oncology / Haematology or Paediatrics
* Experience of managing and co‑ordinating staff
* Experience of writing SOPs
* Experience of training staff
* Good clinical and pharmaceutical knowledge relating to promotion of high quality, effective and cost effective use of medicines
Desirable
* Evidence of service development and improvement
* Knowledge of the current changes within the NHS; including productivity and efficiency and patient safety
Skills - Essential
* Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good time management
