Job Description
At WJ, we design and build our own vehicles at two manufacturing bases in the UK, producing specialised road marking equipment, based on HGV chassis. At our purpose-built Stoke-on-Trent workshop, we predominantly undertake refurbishment work with occasional new builds. We also undertake repairs as and when required. Training will be given on our specific vehicles and systems, but experience on plant or agricultural vehicles is necessary.
This a fantastic opportunity to work with a variety of different and bespoke vehicles allowing you to develop your skills by applying your knowledge of systems to different vehicles.
What you will do:
* Installing and retrofitting equipment to chassis and vehicle body
* Diagnostic assessment and problem solving to rectify
* Install and maintain hydraulic, fuel and pneumatic systems
* Involved in final Post Paint Assemble of equipment
Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to meet the physical requirements involved, such as manual handling or prolonged standing etc. with reasonable adjustments made where required.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
* Must have a good understanding of plant and vehicle systems
* Must have demonstrable experience in manufacturing and HGV engineering/fitting
* Able to work from own initiative and as part of a team
* A good timekeeper
* Someone who’s conscientious and prides themselves on the quality of their work
* Flexible to carry out other duties as required
* Good practical ability working to high standard for new installations
* UK Driving Licence
* HGV Licence is not essential but would be beneficial

Normal working hours are 40 hours a week between 7am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime.
