Receptionist / Outpatient Administrator – Band 2 – 30‑36 Hours per week – Permanent
Job Summary
Join the Outpatient Administration team at Dr Gray’s Hospital, supporting clinic reception and booking activities for patients and service users.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for patients, both over the phone and in person.
* Manage reception and booking area operations, prioritising conflicting demands efficiently.
* Maintain accurate appointment records and coordinate with clinic staff.
* Use IT systems effectively to manage patient information and appointment scheduling.
* Provide a confident, caring and empathetic service to all users.
Qualifications
* Previous reception or administrative experience in a health or clinical setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good organisational and methodical approach.
* IT literacy and ability to adapt to electronic booking systems.
* Self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Working Hours
Contracted 30 to 36 hours per week, mainly Mon‑Fri 08:00–17:00. From 1/4/26 the full‑time (37‑hour) week will reduce to 36 hours with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
Benefits
Pay will not be affected by the reduction in hours; hourly rate will be increased accordingly.
