About the Role RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) analyses are key operational characteristics for Airbus Defence and Space products as they directly impact the mission objectives and business cases of our customers. As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing candidate designs of all the space products developed in Portsmouth such as the spacecraft and equipment's for UK national programs and ESA, NASA spacecraft launched to explore mars or analyse the earth surface or its atmosphere. You will also be involved in a wide range of product development such as propulsion subsystems, digital processors etc. How will you contribute to the team… As a member of a transnational RAMS Department, you will interface with your colleagues in UK, France and Germany as part of a single team whose aim is pursue excellence in our activities which consists of: Assessing/understanding of customer requirements Performing required Project RAM analyses (e.g. FMEA/FMECA, Statistical Reliability/Availability Analysis etc.) Performing required Project Safety activities such as safety analysis, production of safety submission documents Performing trade-offs and redundancy optimization studies. Working in close collaboration with design engineers (e.g. Hardware, Software and Operations), technical architects, external customers and suppliers to achieve mission objectives. About you A good understanding and experience of Reliability and Safety engineering process methods and tools (FMEA/FMECA, Fault tree, Zonal analysis, statistical reliability prediction) System and equipment engineering related technical disciplines, with a specific focus on electronics and system engineering. Statistics and Reliability Mathematics using Excel with VBA macro development Knowledge on reliability software packages Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ECSS. FIDES) Leadership qualities, with ambitions to progress in the role & company into a managerial position in the future Not a 100% match?
