Overview:
CNC Recruitment is currently seeking a HS&E Advisor to join our client in the Henstridge area, one of the largest metal fabrication companies in the UK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating machinery and ensuring the efficient production of goods.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 6am – 3pm

Duties:
* Working with a team dedicated to HS&E
* Monitoring and reviewing both written and operational works to ensure their effectiveness, compliance, and implementing new protective and preventative measures as required by law or company policy
* Liaising with colleagues to ensure consistent health and safety practices across all sites and satellite offices, including site visits when necessary
* Assisting the HS&E Manager/department to keep the company updated with legislative requirements, updating policies and procedures, and maintaining compliance
* Carrying out, recording, communicating, and implementing workplace risk assessments, producing safe systems of work, and assisting as needed
* Conducting HS&E induction training for new team members and site visitors, and monitoring existing members
* Developing and delivering HS&E training courses
* Providing toolbox talks on relevant topics such as workplace incidents, observations, work practice changes, legislation, and training requirements
* Arranging and preparing external training materials
* Supporting the implementation of training plans
* Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to establish root causes, develop effective corrective actions, and promote continual improvement
* Conducting site inspections, recording observations, near misses, and incidents accurately
* Liaising with the company's Occupational Health team and scheduling appointments
* Ensuring visitors and customers comply with site rules, company procedures, and safe working practices
* Performing HS&E audits according to ISO 45001 procedures, raising reports, and assisting with necessary changes
* Supporting external audits for ISO 45001 and 14001 when required
* Proactively suggesting HS&E initiatives to improve health, safety, and well-being, as well as environmental sustainability
* Assisting with operational plant and equipment inspections and monitoring under current legislation (LOLER, PUWER, working at height, confined space, gas safety, noise surveys, etc.)
* Managing contractor evaluations and site management of contractors in line with legislation and ISO standards
* Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with legislation, management systems, and procedures
* Liaising with insurance companies, HSE, and local authorities as needed
* Performing other duties to support the department's effective operation
* Communicating effectively to engage all employees in HS&E matters
* Attending training courses as required
* Engaging in risk identification, assessment, and safe systems of work development, intervening to prevent breaches
* Adhering to the company's Quality and Environmental Management Systems to ensure quality products and reduce environmental impact, including waste management and carbon emissions documentation
Requirements: NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent
Beneficial: NEBOSH diploma or equivalent, IEMA
