Wiltshire College & University Centre have an exciting opportunity for a Trainer/ Assessor in Engineering to join our team.
Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire
Salary: £28,168 - £39,244 per annum, Trainer/ Assessor scale point 5 13)
(Dependent on skills, qualifications and experience)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, 52 weeks per year

Assessor/ Trainer in Engineering - The Role:

As aTrainer/ Assessor in Engineering, you will play a vital role in the success of our apprentices, working collaboratively with lecturers, employers, and learners to ensure high-quality training, support, and assessment.
Assessor/Trainer in Engineering Key Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting regular workplace visits to assess apprentices' progress, deliver training, and lead tri-party reviews with employers.
* Supporting apprentices with tailored guidance and setting clear, achievable targets aligned with course outcomes.
* Collaborating with lecturers to monitor apprentice attendance, behaviour, and progression.
* Identifying barriers to achievement and implementing targeted intervention strategies to support learner success.
* Promoting awareness of the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) within apprenticeship standards, ensuring alignment with workplace activities.
* Completing skills scans, training plans and enrolment/induction activities for new apprentices.
* Ensuring compliance with apprenticeship funding rules through accurate and self-audited learner records.
* Championing safeguarding, health & safety, and equality, diversity & inclusion throughout all aspects of the role.
* Maintaining strong and proactive communication with employers and promoting wider training opportunities, including T Levels and Adult Learning.
* Attending regular team meetings, CPD events, and 1:1 reviews with the Apprenticeship Manager.
Assessor/Trainer in Engineering You:
We are seeking someone who is organised, proactive, and committed to the development of others. Whether youre an experienced assessor or someone with industry knowledge looking to move into training and assessment, wed love to hear from you.
To succeed in this role, you will:
* Hold or be willing to work towards an Assessors Award.
* Possess relevant professional qualifications at the appropriate level Level 3 or above.
* Have practical experience ofworking in the relevant sector.
* Demonstrate a proven ability to prioritise workloads with good organisational skills.
* Be able to work flexibly and to meet the needs of learner, employers and the college.
The ideal candidate will also:
* Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant Verification Award.
* Have previous experience of motivating and supporting young people aged 16-25.
