Overview
Consultant Psychiatrist in AMH Inpatient rehabilitation - a replacement post vacant due to retirement. The advert will close once a sufficient number of applications have been received.
The post is a 10 PA position split across inpatient rehabilitation units in North and South Durham. Rehabilitation services operate primarily from Primrose Lodge (Chester-le-Street, 14 bedded) and Willow Ward, West Park Hospital (Darlington, 15 bedded). The main acute inpatient beds for North Durham are at Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham and for South Durham at West Park Hospital, Darlington (two wards at Lanchester Road Hospital and three wards at West Park Hospital).
Responsibilities
The principal duties are to provide an active, recovery-focused rehabilitation service to patients within the North and South Durham localities of the Adult Mental Health Directorate. The focus is primarily inpatient with minimal community-based work. You will lead an energetic rehabilitation service and work closely with colleagues in Adult Mental Health to offer a flexible service, with strong multidisciplinary leadership. You will work with other agencies to develop supported living schemes and employment services, and with commissioners to develop links with providers of more specialist services.
