Duties This Day School teaches children and young people up to age 19 with a variety of complex needs, including multiple learning disabilities PMLD, moderate and severe learning disabilities, autism, ADHD and other difficulties. Many of the students you will be teaching will also have medical needs which may include physical or sensory impairment. You will be supported by a passionate multi-disciplinary team, including Teaching Assistants, Support Workers and therapists who ensure the curriculum meets the needs of the students. You will be key in delivering high-quality teaching to the young people within a safe environment helping to equip them for the next stage of their lives. Plan and deliver tailored, high-quality learning. Create an engaging and supportive environment. Work closely with class leaders, therapists, and other professionals. Criteria Experience of SEN Teaching particularly sensory lead curriculum. PGCE or QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training. Understanding Safeguarding and child protection guidelines. Good communication skills both written & verbal. Ability to engage students in positive enabling relationships. Working knowledge of Teacher Standards and expectations.
