There has never been a more important time to protect our members in public services and encourage those that are not members to join a powerful voice.
About this job
Are you a people person with good listening and problem-solving skills? Do you possess the determination to make a difference to people’s lives?
We are looking for a dynamic new organiser who will focus on our work in schools – recruiting new members, motivating them to take an active role in our campaigns, and identifying new activists. With so many changes facing the education workforce and increasing concerns over low pay and term time only working contracts, we require an organiser who feels passionate about engaging with members and non-members working in support staff roles and creating spaces for them to help shape how UNISON organises and responds to these challenges.
This role will require travel across Wales as the organiser will be visiting sites to further our Wales school’s forum campaigns.
The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills in one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising and campaigning. Knowledge of data capture through creating surveys and questionnaires is also a key feature of the role. Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a trade union or community organisation would also be desirable. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of trade unionism and our union’s values.
