Overview
Horticulture and Sports Turf/ Golf Greenkeeping Training Consultant – this is a home-based role within a growing training team. You will develop and support learners to achieve their Apprenticeship across a portfolio of courses at Level 2 and Level 3, including Horticulture Operative, Landscape Construction, Golf Green Keeping and Sports Turf.
Location and travel
Must be located within a maximum of 2 hours driving to central London to enable regular visits to client premises in and around London and the Home Counties. The role includes a blend of face-to-face client visits for practical skills delivery and training/assessment support, with remote theory-based training using technology platforms.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and support training and assessment for apprentices with diverse needs across Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
* Coordinate course delivery with employers and perform Internal Quality Assurance when required.
* Travel to client premises to support practical skills delivery and employability outcomes, with remote delivery of theory-based components via platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
* Manage own time and workload, including necessary administration to maintain compliance with relevant legislation.
Requirements
* Relevant HND/Degree or Level 3 qualification in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Sports Turf Management, Landscape Architecture or similar; broad industry experience.
* Professional and approachable with excellent communication and people skills.
* Ability to support learners with vocationally embedded Maths and English skills, up to Level 2.
* Competent computer skills and willingness to use an e-portfolio; comfortable delivering training remotely.
* Ability to travel to rural business premises and willingness to undertake overnight stays if required.
* Business use insurance for your vehicle prior to start date of any post offered.
Advantageous
* Teaching experience in an FE or HE environment.
* Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above.
* TAQA Level 3 or equivalent and/or assessment experience; TAQA Level 4 or equivalent.
* Understanding of work-based learning.
* GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths and English.
* PA1, PA6, PA6 AW and PA2.
You will also need self-discipline to manage your time and undertake the necessary administration to keep the company in compliance with relevant legislation.
This post is a full-time (Monday – Friday) permanent position; fractional positions of a minimum of 3 days per week may be considered.
