Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in various clinical and non-clinical roles. The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Renfrewshire CAMHS team. The post holder will deliver and assist with psychological and psychometric assessments for children and young people in Renfrewshire who are under Specialist Children’s Services, as well as providing psychological therapy within the Tier 3 CAMHS team.
The post involves working across service pathways within the CAMHS team. The post holder will supervise lower-grade staff, including MSc and doctoral trainees, contribute to service development, and participate in delivering clinical services in a Tier 3 CAMHS setting. Renfrewshire is known for its friendly community and good working environment.
The service has undergone significant changes recently, welcoming many new staff members. You will join a team of experienced clinical and applied psychologists. This period is marked by innovation and opportunities within the Specialist Children’s Services. We seek an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join us on this journey of improvement. You will work under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and collaborate with other Principal Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology, and Assistant Psychologists as part of the wider multidisciplinary team. Peer support opportunities are available.
Applicants must have postgraduate doctoral-level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent for those trained before 1996), accredited by the BPS or HCPC, and be registered with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist. You will join a group of over 100 psychologists working with children and young people across various settings, with strong professional support, supervision, and collaborative relationships with other disciplines and agencies. The service maintains strong links with the University of Glasgow Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and the University of Edinburgh MSc Course in Applied Psychology for Children and Adolescents.
