Our innovative start-up, developing ultra-high bandwidth, low latency optical interconnects for generative AI, cellular, and high bandwidth data transfer applications, is seeking a hands-on Director of Silicon Hardware Engineering.
The role involves developing a digital-analog mixed-signal chip that leverages photonic fabrication process modules for integrating 2D materials into silicon photonics process flows.
Working in an exciting start-up with strong funding, you will develop cutting-edge chips with industry-revolutionizing potential. The company is expanding across multiple groups. The Director of Silicon Hardware Engineering will define, develop, and communicate the technical vision for ASIC chips, contribute to long-term strategy, and foster relationships across teams.
The company has already assembled a team of industry experts and has a clear route to market.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and confidence in:
* Over 20 years experience in technical and leadership roles
* Tape-out of complex chips at advanced technology nodes (around 12nm or lower)
* SoC chip architecture, including interconnects and bus protocols (AXI, AMBA, CHI, AHB, etc.)
* IP selection, evaluation, and integration
* Understanding of in-house development versus engaging with design houses or outsourced partners
* Digital, analog, AMS, and mixed-signal IC design
* Managing test, verification, validation, and characterization functions
* Embedded software, firmware, and systems
* High-speed data connectivity (Ethernet, gigabit, SerDes, optical)
* Budget, licensing, contracts, and supplier management
* Back-end physical design processes and foundry considerations
The right candidate will be an experienced leader, eager to contribute to and build a fast-paced company poised to become a market leader.
