Estimator - We a looking for an Estimator to join a leading contractor specialising in the sustainable delivery of modular buildings. This company provides innovative solutions for short-term rental, long-term leasing, and permanent off-site constructed buildings across a range of sectors.
You will be required to provide accurate Tenders/Quotations from client's enquiries and provide clients with early cost plan/budget advise.
Your Role:
Accurately calculate quantities and prices when needed.
Communicate directly with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Prepare detailed contractor proposals based on designs and client requirements.
Work closely with the pre-construction team to develop project proposals.
Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Understand project scope and manage risks and costs effectively.
Collaborate with the sales team to meet client expectations.
Create enquiry packages with clear scopes of work and manage supplier responses.
Read and understand construction drawings and documents for accurate measurements.
Apply mark-up and margin correctly.
Prepare tender documents including cost breakdowns and value engineering options.
Help grow and improve the supply chain for different market sectors.
Keep accurate records and manage electronic data.
Stay organised and manage time well across multiple projects.
Knowledge of modular construction is helpful, but training will be provided.
Requirements:
A qualification in construction (HNC/HND or Degree) is preferred.
Good with numbers and understands current construction rates.
Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and estimating software.
Some knowledge of JCT Design & Build and NEC3 contracts is a plus.
Ideally has 5+ years' experience in a similar role, especially in design and build, main contracting, or modular construction.
Able to support projects from early planning stages through to contract award, working well with teams and clients.
