The role
As part of the relationship management team, you will manage a portfolio of top-tier institutional clients and large financial institutions in the EMEA region with a focus on nurturing existing relationships whilst developing, identifying and cultivating new business opportunities for Proxymity in conjunction with commercial teams. Reporting into the Head of Relationship Management, you will understand and anticipate the client’s needs to grow and deepen the relationship by delivering mutually beneficial business outcomes. The individual in this role must possess strong commercial, leadership and influencing skills, with a demonstrated track record of working with senior business leaders and key decision-makers within the client organisation. Negotiation and communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to be proactive, self‑driven and work in a fast‑paced environment whilst managing multiple priorities.
In your relationship capacity, you act as a key institutional client escalation point in the EMEA region, lead and oversee key programmes of work, manage contractual matters and work with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
Your efforts to ensure ongoing satisfaction, adoption and evolution of the Proxymity platform and products will require close collaboration with all Proxymity business functions, including senior management, business development, sales, legal, product, marketing, operations, and technology.
Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain relationships with multiple levels within the institutional client organisation, whilst cultivating these relationships to a higher level. This includes organising and running a series of regular client meetings from monthly service reviews, senior steering committee meetings and annual relationship reviews. Act as primary owner to resolve open action items.
* Build and foster relationships across the client organisation, including with Product, Operations, Technology and Compliance, using these relationships to influence good outcomes for the client and Proxymity.
* Build and maintain relationships with issuer agents in the region, acting as a trusted partner for business development opportunities and senior point of escalation.
* Build, maintain and drive account plans for clients ensuring a good understanding of their business needs and our solutions, whilst constantly working to match these and expand the business relationship.
* Collaborate with an existing base of financial intermediaries to ensure widespread adoption of the Proxymity platform by their respective custody and other relevant business lines.
* Identify areas of growth and opportunity with new client segments via inquisitive and interactive discovery of their needs.
* Regular reporting to Proxymity management on the status of your client portfolio, challenges, and emerging opportunities.
* Collaboration with the Proxymity marketing team to evolve marketing collateral and narratives for the financial intermediary client segment, as well as help in the planning of client events in the region.
* Build a deep understanding of the Proxymity value proposition and product lines with a view to marketing our solutions and developing new ones into existing client portfolios.
* Negotiation and execution of contracts with existing and new relationships.
Qualifications
* 8+ years of relevant experience in a Relationship Manager or commercial role.
* Experience of maintaining day‑to‑day relationship along with building on existing relationships.
* Experience of leading regular relationship meetings on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
* Experience being the point person to manage client escalations.
* Extensive knowledge of financial markets and asset servicing; knowledge of the corporate actions and proxy voting ecosystems is a distinct advantage.
* Experience in navigating and managing senior management at clients and partners.
* Experience managing successful client onboarding/implementation.
* Proven track record of positive client engagement.
* Experience in developing new business ideas and opportunities.
* Experience executing on commercial contracts independently.
* Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
* Ambitious with a can‑do attitude.
