Job description
Allen & York are delighted to be working with a global industrial engineering firm as they look to recruit a Group Energy & Carbon Manager to join their established, high performing Sustainability Team to deliver their ambitious targets around Net Zero.
You'll sit on the company's Group Sustainability Management Committee, providing strategic and technical guidance and you'll develop annual and medium-term CapEx investment plans for net zero and direct the Group's strategic decarbonisation programme for Scopes 1, 2 and 3. In addition, you'll chair the Net Zero cross-business working group. You will be comfortable working in a matrix environment, be pragmatic, have a strong commercial acumen, innovative and be adept at solving problems. You'll also employ your proven people management skills as you will manage a team of two direct reports and a (part-time) contractor, with the potential for this to grow in time.
Experience of having worked in a global capacity is important, as you'll be working across multiple geographies and sites (manufacturing and sales locations), so cultural sensitivity is required to be empathetic to working with a diverse workforce. You'll also be adept at achieving results remotely and if you have a background in engineering or related sector, this will stand you in good stead. You will be the company's lead expert on industrial GHG management and you'll be knowledgeable about the requirements of Scope 3 GHG accounting, the SBTi and industrial emissions assessment and reporting.
You will be educated to degree standard (and ideally MSc) in a STEM related subject combined with experience working at a senior level and you'll ideally have high level project and programme management qualifications, including being qualified in Energy Management relating to industrial process applications.
Based in the Southwest of England, in the beautiful county of Gloucestershire, the company operates a hybrid working model so you will need to be able to access the offices a couple of times a week to work alongside your team and also to attend Senior Leadership Team meetings.
