Sous Chef

Location: Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Near Newport, Shropshire TF10 9LQ
Salary: up to £31,000 plus, excellent benefits
Schedule: Full time, 39 hours per week. Shifts include 0600–1400, 0700–1500, 1130–2000, 1300–2100. Weekend working required, for functions and events.

What you’ll do as a Sous Chef

* Prepare and cook dishes to agreed standards and recipes.
* Maintain the cleaning schedule, delegating tasks appropriately.
* Ensure food is produced to the required quality and presentation standards.
* Follow company hygiene procedures including recording temperatures, taking samples, and ensuring safe storage of foodstuffs.
* Complete and generate orders as required.
* Work with the Head Chef and Nutritionist to develop innovative, nutritious menus.
* Adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
* Work flexibly across mornings, evenings, and weekends to meet site needs.
* Role model Serco’s values and support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team.
* Challenge colleagues constructively when standards or behaviours are not upheld.


Does this sound like you?

* A minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
* At least two years of kitchen experience.
* Experience catering for large numbers (desirable).
