Link3 Recruitment is seeking a compassionate, patient, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a primary or secondary school setting in the NG5 area. This role is well suited to individuals with experience supporting children with additional or complex needs who are committed to helping young people thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
*
Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
*
Assist teachers in maintaining a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
*
Deliver targeted interventions and contribute to individual support plans
*
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
*
Support pupils in managing conflict and developing effective coping strategies
*
Encourage engagement, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
Requirements
*
Relevant experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN, behavioural, or complex needs in a school or similar setting
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to apply de-escalation strategies effectively
*
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
*
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral staff
*
A genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of young people
Safeguarding & Compliance

Right to Work in the UK (essential)

Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce), registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply prior to starting
